Privacy, in plain language.

1. What PaisaZen does

PaisaZen is a personal-finance organisation and expense-intelligence app for Android. With your permission, it reads supported financial SMS alerts on your phone to identify and organise bank, UPI and card activity. It also supports manual entries, review and correction, Financial Details, AI Insights and Ask PaisaZen.

2. Information the app uses

• Financial SMS alerts: supported messages from banks, card issuers and payment services, when you grant Android SMS permission.
• Transaction records: extracted amounts, dates, merchants, categories, payment context, review decisions and optional notes.
• Financial identity details: masked account or card identifiers, issuer and card-product details, card network, and UPI identities used to improve matching.
• Account and app settings: information you provide to use the app, preferences, security settings and permission state.
• Support information: anything you choose to send when asking for help or reporting a problem.

3. On-device processing

The current Play build processes supported financial alerts, transaction classification, AI Insights and Ask PaisaZen responses on your Android device. PaisaZen does not currently offer Account Aggregator connections, cloud AI analysis, investment tracking or trading.

Android controls SMS permission. You can revoke it from system settings, but automatic tracking will no longer be able to read new alerts.

4. Google Gmail Access

Gmail access is not available in the current V29 release. If introduced in a future release, PaisaZen may optionally connect to a user's Google account to automatically identify financial transaction information from emails.

If Gmail access is introduced and enabled:

• PaisaZen requests read-only Gmail access.
• Gmail data is accessed directly by the PaisaZen Android app from Google's APIs.
• Email processing and transaction extraction occur locally on the user's device.
• PaisaZen does not upload Gmail message content to PaisaZen servers, Firebase databases, analytics services, advertising systems, crash-reporting services, or cloud AI services.
• Raw or complete email bodies are not retained by PaisaZen after processing.
• Only normalized transaction information and minimal local metadata required for functions such as duplicate prevention may be stored in the device's local database.
• Gmail connection is optional and can be disconnected at any time.
• Users can remove Gmail-imported information from PaisaZen.
• PaisaZen does not use Google user data for advertising, credit-worthiness decisions, lending purposes, or to train or improve generalized AI/ML models.
• PaisaZen does not sell Google user data or share or transfer Gmail message content to third parties for advertising, data brokerage, credit decisions, lending, or unrelated purposes.
• PaisaZen employees, contractors and support personnel do not read Gmail message content as part of normal application operation. Gmail processing is performed automatically on the user's device.

Google API Limited Use

PaisaZen's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Storage and security

Transaction records and financial identities used by the current app are kept on the device. PaisaZen exposes only masked identity details where appropriate and supports app-lock controls. No security system can eliminate every risk, so keep your phone and operating system protected and up to date.

6. Service operation

The current financial-intelligence features described above operate on the device. Essential platform or account services may process limited account or technical information where needed to operate the app, meet legal obligations, prevent abuse or respond to a request you make. This policy will be updated before any materially different data flow is introduced.

7. Your choices

• Review, correct or remove transaction records in the app.
• Change or revoke Android permissions from system settings.
• Use the in-app account-deletion control or submit a request through the public Delete Account page.
• Contact support to ask a privacy question.

Deleting an online account and deleting information stored locally on a phone are separate operations. The Delete Account page explains both.

8. Children

PaisaZen is not directed to children. Do not use the service if you are not old enough to agree to these terms under the laws that apply to you.
